Nehemiah 4:10-14

So easily we give up on one another. We give up on family members, we lower our expectations or hopes because we've been let down. We turn to divorce when things are tough or our feelings just aren't there anymore. At Bible Study tonight we talked about fighting for our families. Fighting for our homes, our husbands, our children, etc. Oh that God would raise men and women up that are fighting for their families and for each other as spouses. This is my prayer. That units would be strengthened, that the world would see Christians committed to each other and encouraging those around us who are struggling in their own situations. God give us strength to fight for that which YOU have told us is worth it.

"And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people,'Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.'" - Nehemiah 4:14

SummerShine Training Weekend

We have our orientation for SummerShine starting Friday. It's been a bit crazy getting ready, recruiting, planning and praying, but it is a time of excitement in many ways as well. I'm remembering that God has been in each of these steps and He will be with us over the weekend too!

Last night Matt had to get up at 12:30 am to get to work by 2am. I had gotten in bed around midnight. Pretty much he got up as I fell asleep. Is this what 3rd shift families experience? It was very strange.

We finally made it to FL!

About a month ago, we got to visit Orlando, FL. I might have mentioned this before, but it was Matt's first trip to Florida! We always joked during SummerShine about heading for FL, and we finally made it!

Matt was in a class down there and we took a few days to make the rounds! The Sunday we got into town we hit up Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. I am not much for roller coasters, but I rode every one that Matt wanted to ride - and he had prepared a list of the must do rides. In the end, all of the rides were great and I was so glad I persevered! We LOVED the Harry Potter ride, and we haven't even read the books. It was just really, really cool simulation and movement! I've also decided I'm going to read the books. We rode "The Hulk," it goes 0-40mph in the two seconds (or so). Impressive!!!!!! And of course some great standards, MIB, Spiderman, etc.

Here are a few pictures to enjoy. Such a fun trip!

This pic was for my dad! Woohoo Jeeps!
