Easter (better late than never)

**I tried to post this several times in the past week and a half, but my photos wouldn't upload. So... I'm sorry for the even more tardiness of my Easter post!**

We had a great Easter weekend. We met Matt's dad, Jenn and the boys for breakfast at IHOP on Saturday. It was yummy and a nice visit. I had some of the cinnastack pancakes that tasted just like I remembered them from high school...delicious! Then Jenn and I headed to target, which is always a fun stop. Matt entertained the boys so we could browse. After that we went to Clemmons for Saturday afternoon through Easter Sunday. My allergies had kicked in Friday night, so unfortunately I was not feeling great and missed out on the tennis match that my siblings took part in. But being around family is always enjoyable, even when feeling puny. Here are a few photos of the yummy cupcakes we decorated Saturday night and the "kids" and girls on Sunday morning. Dad didn't make our short photo session, he was still at church when we snapped the few shots.

On a side note, Easter is such a wonderful celebration. I love singing "Christ the Lord is Risen Today..." with the continual alleluia's throughout the song. I love the joy of celebrating a risen savior, and the grace and forgiveness that has been given to me through Jesus's death. It is a beautiful day, a beautiful celebration.

Matthew 28:1-10
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
